My mom left behind lots of stuff. Odds and sods. One of those odds was a small box full of key blanks. Why did she have key blanks? Get me a ouija board and I’ll find out.

Do you ever find yourself at the local grocery store without a coin to take out a shopping cart? That’s me more often than I’d like to admit.

These two seemingly unrelated things come together here in this knick knack.

The bow¹ of the key has the exact same diameter and thickness of a good old Canadian one dollar coin, the same coin typically used in shopping cart locks. So I cut the bit² (or blade³) of the key off, smoothed the rough edge, and now I’m never without access to a cart when I hit up No Frills⁴ for all my budget grocery needs.

¹ I actually looked up what that part of the key is called
² While I was there, I looked this up too
³ Damn right, I looked this up as well
⁴ Not a sponsored post, just know that this works in their shopping carts
